Poll alert

comres Poll alertWe have a ComRes opinion poll in The Independent on Sunday tomorrow, shared with the Sunday Mirror.

In addition to asking people how they intend to vote, we asked if people agree or disagreed with the following statements:

Politicians have probably covered up child sex abuse by other senior politicians in the past
Allegations of child sex abuse in the 1960s and 1970s should still be investigated, despite it being over 30 years ago
I have confidence that the inquiry appointed by the Prime Minister will reveal and make public the truth about allegations of child sex abuse by politicians in the past
David Cameron’s reshuffle of his Government this week has improved my view of the Conservative Party
David Cameron promotes women in his government purely on merit
David Cameron promotes women mainly for presentational reasons
Ed Miliband is likely to be prime minister after the next election
Tony Blair should be sacked as representative of the US, Russia, EU and UN to Israel-Palestine

And we asked half the sample: “For each of the following, do you think they would be more likely under a Conservative or Labour government?” And of the other half: “… under David Cameron or Ed Miliband as Prime Minister?”

I would pay more tax
The quality of public services, such as education and the NHS, would become worse
My personal finances would improve
The economy would grow most
Immigration would be well managed
A referendum would be held on staying in or leaving the European Union.
Britain would be well regarded abroad
A home team (England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland) would do well in the 2018 World Cup

I shall post the results of the poll here this evening, and the tables will be on the ComRes website.
